I miss my analog youth.

Fenders need to make a comeback.

The only downside is that you can pick up it’s platform twin XK8 for about $4k, 1/10th the price. Otherwise nice price for what it is.

Look again...

I've owned more XJ, MJ, TJ, WJ, ZJ, and YJ than I can count.

Nope, random Google search.

Please see my other posts regarding the inherent limitations of IFS/IRS in comparison to solid axle. I don't feel like repeating myself yet again.

You realize it's physically impossible to modify the new Defender to approach anything resembling that level of articulation, right?

That’s kind of the point of the Defender though, isn’t it? LR already offers the Range Rover, RR Sport, Evoque, Velar, Discovery, and Discovery Sport... all of which are full independent suspension and offer off-road ability (some more than others).

If that’s what I’m going for, I’d take a 130 as my top pick.

There’s nothing impressive about that disco, at all. And that level of ‘impressiveness’ is downright laughable on a defender.

You should get out more.

1) IFS/IRS means short halfshafts with CV’s. Which means mechanical limitations to off-road performance.

Audi is tweaking existing language created a long time ago to stay relevant, while the people who created it back in the day are now in charge and pumping out clean sheet design for the Koreans.

So, basically it’s a faster 1st Gen Volt. Got it.

Show me a modified IFS.

Holy crap, how’d I forget to include the m1.

Damn that's cool.
