Absolutely. I’ve proposed that all airlines should be required to post a standard fare with 1 checked bag and assigned seats. Not disagreeing with the article, but I wanted to point out something about sitting next to your partner. The benefit isn’t hours of conversation, the benefit is that you’re comfortable being in each other’s personal space. With a stranger crammed next to you, you have to work to maintain your distance.

Agreed with all of this, with one exception: if the captain/pilot tells you to to move, you move.
If they tell you to do the truffleshuffle, you do it.

I live in California. Maybe I’m weird or the minority, but I look at this different from the Ford man.

I think we will see battery tech efficiency gains exceed use requirements long before we could standardize and facilitate quick exchanges of $10k battery packs. When you can get 200-300 miles out of a 7 minute 40% charge, a battery exchange will seem insane.

I’m not so convinced they’re a transportation company. I’d liken it to McDonalds:
