That’s actually a common misconception with these 3rd gen F-bodies -- one I held at one point too. While they weren’t Lotuses by any stretch, they handled quite well for their era, not to mention their class of vehicle and price-point. There are numerous reviews in the annals of Road & Driver Trend that speak to this.

Not that I’m a huge fan of this car personally, I’m not. I’d much rather have an SHO, an FC RX-7 Turbo II, a SuperCoupe, or a Starquest from this era, just to name a few. But the top performance trim version of any pony car will necessarily be a sought-after classic once the requisite number of decades tick past.

Or MLC guys buy MUCH older status/cool/flashy stuff like Chevelles and GTOs.

Use that 10 minutes to consume a spicy encharito from the charge station’s convenience store. That will assure your need to stop in the next 120 miles...

Yup - Not even a speedometer if your Model 3's screen goes out.

Or perhaps the ability to even see your speed, if the Model 3 is involved.

I think you misunderstood my post. I was not targeting enthusiast priorities at all, although trucks certainly fail against other vehicles in every enthusiast category. I was pointing out that trucks fail against other choices in every single category, outside of their utility capabilities. So if someone doesn’t

I’m not so sure about dismissing charge times. Most petrol trucks don’t have a 500 mile range when towing, but no one cares because it takes 5 minutes to fuel them. The same would be true for an EV truck with <500 miles but a 5-10 minute charge time.

Absolutely jackass, but I’m not sure that’s poseur, per se. More like someone who buys that restored Checker and then refuses to ever enter Manhattan in it, because it might get its bumper parking tapped.

Probably the same guy who buys a $5000 semi-aniline calfskin set of matching Tumi luggage and then goes after the airline when they come off the carousel with scuffs on the leather.

Don’t worry, it won’t be. Try $75k stripper and ~$100k nicely optioned. That is unless you’re talking about buying it CPO off-lease in 3 years, in which case $60k is probably on the numbers.

I’ve been alive for over 4 decades and have been rabidly enthusiastic about automobiles for nearly that long. Nevertheless, I still cannot get my head around the desire by many to own a pickup truck as a primary vehicle when they have no regular need for its additional utility, if at all. Pickup trucks are a trailing

That could be easily remedied from today’s salvage yard world of supercharged 3800's, for a reasonably quick ride to match its styling. But I’d have pity upon the stock trans if only the engine were swapped.

Unfortunately, the rumors indicate any hopes for a properly massive wing aren’t likely to come true...”

Someone please point me to the group of people that was rooting for this styling cue on any C8 (Fast & Furious franchise producers don’t count). It’s my understanding that the majority consensus on C8 appearance favo

If only Frank were still alive to reprise his song for a Corvette ad campaign...LOL

I don’t think the $100K mark is the tripwire for “exotic” status anymore, if that’s what you mean. I think it’s at least $150K in today’s world, if you have to put a dollar figure on it. Even GM SUV’s can be optioned up over $100K nowadays.

At Kerbeck, Criswell, and the other volume Corvette dealers they absolutely will. They will order you anything that GM can build, with $0 markup over MSRP, and deliver it to your door anywhere in the US.

The C8 also has an option for red seatbelts, although I’d wager it’s orders of magnitude less $$ than its Porsche counterpart option.

I don’t know, Justin — I live in Southern California, and if cocaine was “as rare as a barn find” I’d have six F40's, a plethora of Shelby Cobras, half the Bullitt movie cars, and a couple of L88 Corvettes in my garage...   ;-)
