Also, take into account that the $54 upcharge mentioned is *per segment*, not per trip. So unless you’re flying hub-to-hub on Spirit, with no connection, booking a “Big Front Seat” all the way to your destination (and back, if you like) is going to be a multi-hundred dollar increase over the base fare.

To be clear, it’s not “range anxiety”, despite the pop culture lexicon. It’s charge time/availability anxiety. If there were 5 minute, 0-100% chargers on every major street corner, even a 100 mile range wouldn’t be an issue.

I’m a Gen-X C7 and C3 owner, and that still is damn funny!  Here’s your star :-)

It actually *DOES* come in brown ;-)

La Mesa.

Also, most credit cards provide some type of loyalty bonus these days—cash back, airline miles, hotel points, free gas, etc. Every time you pay with debit or cash you’re leaving money on the table. I do understand, however, that there are folks who cannot qualify for a credit card and so their options are indeed limite

This! There is a neighborhood of suburban San Diego where skimming is RAMPANT, and it’s almost exclusively limited to the independent gas stations there. If you use your card at the pump at one of them you will be skimmed, more likely than not. Despite numerous reports to the police, credit card fraud departments, and

What a clown. I doubt the paint nick you describe even rose to his deductible. Sorry that happened, and funny that Carfax doesn’t make a distinction between an accident-involved vehicle that required no repairs and one where repairs were made. It’s not incredibly uncommon to have an accident where one vehicle sustains

I’m wondering who reported this to insurance or called the police for such an insignificant event??? Those are the only ways it gets onto a Carfax. I’ve seen high-end vehicle owners pony up tens of thousands out of pocket, bypassing insurance altogether, just for the ego of not having the accident on Carfax.

I completely agree with bicyclists using the roads, with perhaps the exception of interstate highways. However, they *MUST* obey the same laws motorists do—stop signs, red lights, hand signals for turns and lane changes, keeping to the right whenever able, to allow vehicle traffic to pass, etc. And the police must

Looking forward to the day where we’re required by law to stay on sidewalks, footbridges, and walkways as pedestrians, and roads are for cars...only.

This!! When used perfectly by the book—hands on the wheel, eyes on the road—these types of Level 2 systems amount to nothing more than pointless (and pricey) techno gimmicks, that don’t reduce workload or fatigue in any functional way. There is no benefit to safety or ease of operation. When used in the way many

Or that your car is likely the lowest trim line of its model, but you want to keep people guessing?

It’s far less of a pain to wax pressed-in or debossed letters/badging than it is to wax around and in between stuck-on letters/badging.  Plus, that’s for your detail guy to worry about...LOL.

Not sure what I’m missing. “Bradford Galt” opined that the government wants autonomous cars because it will provide them yet another avenue to exercise control over individuals. So much so that they’re willing to ignore the current dangers they create. You responded to him, saying that it sounded “like a tin foil

Bullshit. They suspend your driver license for all manner of things wholly unrelated to driving, many related to civil debt. The intent is to keep you from driving, and this is done even though doing so runs directly contrary to the behavior they’re trying to discourage—you can’t work if you cant drive; you can’t pay

Hi Tom, I’d like a little clarification on this statement: “There is a common misconception that cars under warranty must be serviced at the dealership, this is not true.”

Are you just restating the truism that so long as you perform and document the proper scheduled services on your vehicle—oil changes, tire

Another operational stat that replies have missed (so far), is that the 747 can be flown faster and higher than the current crop of ultra-efficient, twin engine airliners (.92 Mach+, nearly transonic, and FL450+). In a presidential transport scenario, this has its tactical advantages—search stories of its tactical

Yes, I’m with you. I’m only a fan of kiosks when they’re at the entrance to paid, private parking lots with numbered spaces.  If it’s street parking, each space should have its own meter, and each meter should accept its own payment.
