I’m with you on this one. If you can drive on it for free, where’s the logic in having to pay to stop on it? I’ve never understood the notion of charging drivers for stopping their cars (other than on private property).

I’m assuming that your last statement refers to the stereotype that car enthusiasts only buy cheap used cars—if that’s not what you meant, then please ignore my post. But I’ve never understood this trope. I know numerous car guys (including me) who’ve bought plenty of higher-end, manual performance cars brand new and…
Nope, when someone unilaterally denies a truism that’s been universally understood for nearly a century by all authorities in its field, then they *ARE* a troll, by definition.
Not bad at all, but not adding a door to the fuel filler is an egregious oversight.
Oh please, troll, play your bridge games somewhere else. This has been documented ubiquitously for time immemorial by the State Department, Unicef, the UN, Amnesty International...this list goes on and on. You’re an abject fool.
If you don’t believe that child slave labor exists with relative frequency in China, then “ignorant” does not begin to describe your mindset--you’d give ostriches a run for their money. Not to mention your presumption of my pallet of knowledge and life experience without having a single point of data, or knowing me…
Chances are, if they’re made in China (and I’ll take that bet), they’re likely made by 11 year olds chained to workbenches for 18 hours a day. Not exactly the cheap foreign jobs you may have envisioned. Just ask Kathy Lee Gifford.
Wait ‘til you see the commercial:
Us Californians could really do without the white top-dark body schemes, especially on SUV’s, as those are supposed to be reserved for law enforcement vehicles in our state. A little weary here of mistaking every dark FJ Cruiser from afar for CHiPs or SDPD.
In today’s age of pricing agreement clauses for authorized retailers of pretty much any merchandise (iPhones, PlayStations, mattresses, etc.), how is this not a thing for auto manufacturers and their dealer franchise agreements? This only makes the brand look bad to the average consumer. Most folks don’t understand…
With these IPO plans, it looks like you picked the wrong week to stop...
The last time I read a business model this insane, I was reading a reader comment “I made $250k a year working from home by just stuffing envelopes, and so can you...”
I’ve said this before, but...
Back-up cameras should image in the rear view mirror. Navigation instructions should display in the DIC, or HUD if available. HVAC and audio controls should be permanent physical control heads. At that point, if the automaker *MUST* include a screen to be “fancy” and “tech forward”, maybe…
Yes, this!

As much as I love both C6's, Z06 and GS, for roughly the same price as either one, you could have the far nicer 2014 (maybe 2015) C7 Z51. And essentially every review concluded that it matches the C6 Z06's performance at the track and betters its poise on the street.
“Imported from Detroit” ;-)
I’ve only been to two auto races in my life—one NASCAR and one Indy—so my data points are a bit thin. But the $13 beers you speak of were 24 or 26 ounce cans at those races. So that makes it $6.50 (or slightly less) per “standard” 12 ounces, which is comparable to what you’d pay at any metropolitan-area bar.…
This cannot legally be a thing if a buyer is purchasing the car outright. Any dealer changing an advertised price on a cash buyer would be subject to fines, possible license suspension, and potentially jail. I’m not saying everyone can/should buy cars without loans, but it demonstrates yet another reason to carefully…
I think Slowpoke was saying that you shouldn’t spend more than 90 minutes in negotiating a final price. And it sounds like that happened relatively quickly and painlessly in your case. The waiting came into play post-deal, due to poor staffing considerations on the dealer’s part.
Perhaps I misunderstand your scenario, but if you’re not physically present at the auction house as the auction is taking place, how would you know what dealers were present to bid, let alone who passed on the vehicle?
