I don't know anything about off roading. I do know that off highway (construction/set back axle) tractor trailers have tires often called 'flotation tires'. So I dont know if your terminology is correct or not, but I knew what you were talking about.

I agree with the fake/too large intakes. On these cars (Cruze, Malibu, etc) the grille is mostly blocked off and theres only a small opening for cooling. Works great for aero, looks terrible when its snowing and the grille is all white except a little square of negative space.

I did the wrong gear thing with a manual. I always leave my car in reverse with the park brake on. I was in a hurry arriving to work so I stopped the car, ripped up the park break and went in. When I came out at the end of the day I didnt check to make sure the car was in reverse and almost drove into the parking

I agree. I feel like this will turn into one of those things where people dont like a certain car or brand because 'some expensive engine part gave out' when in fact it was their own fault for not properly maintaining there vehicle.

I was talking to a friend about this the other day and wondering how these engines will handle long term with people that could care less about regular maintenance. I'm pretty meticulous, changing the oil every 3k, using full syn, not boosting until the car is warm etc. But I wonder how many people wont want to spend

Maybe this has been covered, so forgive me if it has. But isnt this similar to how Apple has the Apple Store, and sells its own products? Wouldn't there still be a showroom, garage, small sales staff etc? It would just be 'Tesla' instead of 'Fuccillo Tesla' or something like that.

Yea you're probably right.

I bought one of the original style VW logos and shared it online on a VW group. All I got was people all uneasy and sort of angry that I would buy something like that and then share it online. I did the same thing, reminding them not only was it a symbol of unity and peace (which makes sense why Hitler used it if you

Whenever I watch any videos of the S1 Quattro or IMSA 90 I do the same thing. I'm sitting at work or home trying to not giggle with pure excitement.

I got to go probably 4 or 5 years ago and I'll never forget it. I loved how relaxed it was and how you could just browse around. We were walking out the door and this guy goes "Hey we're about to start up the Enzo stick around". I was barely paying attention to him, but it was Ken telling us to stay.

I have to vote for this as well. Mine served me well over my 4 years of ownership. I have a buddy that has close to 400k on his with nothing besides normal maintenance.

My local news covered this story as well, and they said "The Chevy Spark scored highest, using things like high strength steel and seat belts to keep passengers safe during a crash." Then they rambled off facts about the Fiat 500 vs a Suburban.

Not only does the IIHS not do small cars any favors, the local news

A bunch of people have lifted the last gen beetle. VW should just do a google search for inspiration. I agree with the article though, I like the concept, just add knobbier tires and a bit more lift. That ski rack is awesome and reminds me of the ones I've seen on old Porsches.

*Coupe* in wagon or hatchback.

No problem, glad I could help!

Most sedans have moved towards this more swept proportion and lack of a flat rear deck. MB CLS, CC, Sonata, Fusion, 200, even the new Impala has a bit of it.

I don't know anything, but I'll give my $.02 as to what I think makes a shooting brake. I always assumed that it was a coupe that was then made into a hatch or wagon. I understand the history behind the shooting brake, and I think looking at that defines the difference between a shooting brake and a hatch back. A

I'm confused as to how this can be considered a shooting brake? This to be just looks like a two door hatch back.

I wanted to tell this to all the people complaining about coming into work on monday here in metro detroit. One lady gets done complaining how much her car sucked in the snow and how awful everything thing was and finishes her sentence with 'plus my tires are really old and I need to get new ones, but I'm just putting

I have to agree. A lot of people I've talked to compare its proportion to a CC, which I can agree with, but the details are way too fussy and random on the Sonata. Like you said, the previous gen is a touch boring, but at least it has aged gracefully. This new one is just awful.

I always feel like I'm cursing myself when I say this, but my 02 with 159 and the 1.8t hasnt had an issue in the 2 years I've owned it. I got a stage 1 tune, put new plugs and coil packs, replaced the PCV hoses, and replaced the rubber coupler from the pancake pipe to the intercooler. All pretty normal things for a 14
