This is the same thing Honda did with the Pilot Passport, except with the Passport it’s being modeled to “D.I.N.K’s” (Dual Income No Kids). A term I didn’t know existed despite being one. Literally googled it during the meeting where it was brought up. Kinda funny that two different companies doing the same thing are

I wouldn’t mind! The neighborhood is cool, all the car people own different stuff. No jeep guys here, so you’d fill an open slot!

I live in a SE MI suburb as well. I don’t know my neighborhoods rule, but I’ll say I’m happy I have cool neighbors, and a lot of car people in the neighborhood. I recently picked up a Silvia for a friend of mine and it’s sitting in my driveway until he can get it. RHD, seafoam green, body kit, chrome wheels, straight

I think a large part of the problem is lit gauge clusters as well. There’s times that it’s bright enough outside that I don’t think I need my headlights on, but my gauge cluster is dark, so if I can’t see it, I’ll turn my lights on. That being said I have DRLs, but my taillights are off if my headlights are off.

This is funny because in my Jetta, I attribute it to being lower. But my wife drives a Mariner as well, and I get just as blinded in that thing. X2 for being blinded in a Mariner!

I’ve always driven fwd sedans, and never had a problem in snow. Sure my wifes Escape handles deep stuff better than a Jetta because of ground clearance, but being from the North East and now in MI, it’s rare there’s a storm too big for any car I’ve owned to handle.

I know what you’re saying about the future payments thing. You definitely have to pay attention to the terms. On both my fed and private loans I read through the terms, and called to be sure. Great Lakes displays it like I said, but it really is taking down the principal (hence why I’m paid ahead 9k, with only 3k left

It depends on the servicer, but in the case of Great Lakes, the “Paid Forward” just means that you have that much before you have to make a payment again. For example, if I was paid forward by $1200, and my payments were $100 a month, I could stop paying for a year before being penalized. I’m paid ahead by $9,800 even

For the past few years I’ve been making payments weekly, and if I can do an extra payment, I do bi-weekly. The interest accrual is way less, and it’s easier to pay a larger overall amount monthly since the payments are split into smaller chunks.

I don’t understand how people are asking for so much money for these! I saw an ad for a diesel with 270kmi and he wanted $5,000. I know all about how great the diesels are, but common... I’ve even seem some high priced non diesels. I’ve been keeping an eye out because I’d love a parts car, or one without rocker rust

From the first time I ever went to a car show with my parents they always said “Look with your eyes, not with your hands”. It amazes me how many people lean against, touch, or drool on someone else’s car. I have a 15 year old VW and yell at my friends if they lean against it while hanging out in a parking lot or

Hell yea! I want to get in a car where the driver is excited, and you can shoot the shit about what he’s driving. Better than listening to shitty R&B in the back of a Nissan Sentra that smells like febreze.

I’ve been saying this, or that there should be an “enthusiast” selection. If I just need a ride to the bar dinner, let me select a person that has a cool classic car, or maybe some cool two seater. Even if I had to sign an extra waiver that I can’t touch anything in the vehicle, I’d totally do it.

The thing that drives me the most crazy about scooters and e-bikes is that they don’t belong anywhere. They’re too slow and shouldn’t be in the street. However they have wheels, so they shouldn’t be on the sidewalk. But stick them on the bike path and the people on them aren’t paying enough attention, or act to

Lighting engineer on our hands?

I agree that a lot of it can be annoying these days, but if you haven’t found a single YouTuber you like, you’re watching the wrong stuff. I’ve been watching The Great War lately. He does have fluff but it’s at the end, and the content is extremely high quality, so I can deal with that.

That’s unfortunate. My landlords have a Model 3, and a Lexus ES Hyrbid. I barely see the Tesla move though, so they must not like it as much as the Tesla.

I thought I was the only one. A tall roof doesn’t make something an SUV. Hell, the A4 Allroad has 6.5in of ground clearance compared to 5.4in of the Model X, and I believe the older Allroads had more. For another comparison, because I was curious about my car, a stock mk4 VW has 5.2in.

I’d love an R wagon to replace my 1.8t wagon.

I’ve got a 2002 1.8t wagon with 181k on it. The most major things I’ve done are a clutch, and full exhaust because the original one rotted out after 14 years.
