I was about to respond with “sounds like mob insurance” but your para 3 covered it. So let me say instead, WELL SAID! 

Agreed, not everyone hates the police. But what this seems to indicate is that the police hate the police, or are at least disturbed enough by the actions of a few evil brethren to do something about it. Quit.

As I read through more comments, it appears to me the primary purpose of the traffic stop is to justify civil forfeiture. 

I have never heard this argument before. Well written and well researched, thank you. With the possible exception of speeding, which appears to be the sticking point in the craw of most comments (who do not understand that speeding, like everything else, is in the eye of the beholder (officer)), I’m with you.

Mathematically, to find the correct number of Blacks the police “should” be shooting we take the hypothetical maximum, zero, and divide it by 24%, yielding ... zero. The number of Blacks that should be shot by the police, and by extension people of all races, creeds, heights, genders, and proclivities is ... zero.

This just in: Black folk don’t choose to be Black, while police choose to be bullies (& worse).
