As a fun aside, when I was growing up, lots of my friends thought my dad’s MGB was some kind of classic Porsche because of the headlight lumps.

I’d accuse the 914 of just being a copy-paste of the British roadsters that were the rage of that era as well, but at least British roadsters were a good-looking template to work from.

The 924. It has every appearance of being a generic hatchback that everyone seemed to pump out in the late 70s/early 80s. Nothing about the looks sets it apart from its contemporaries at all.

it’s always the non-parents trying to tell me how I’m raising my kids wrong. Sheesh.

You’re right. I probably just peg it as 90s because I got my first car in the 90s (a 91 Honda Accord, albeit I got it in the late 90s) and it had them. Was not teal, though.

Anything in teal with automatic shoulder belts.

Please don’t conflate mental illness with people who are just idiots.

Car surfing on a Geo Storm. I probably should have died.

I saw that and I’m considering it. Not crazy about the idea of opening up the head unit, but it seems to be not too difficult.

2016 Cayenne S. No Carplay. It’s got a touch screen, it’s got a USB port. The infotainment is even acceptable on its own. But it doesn’t have Carplay and that bugs me.

Honestly, the engine and transmission gave me zero problems over my five years of ownership. They are certainly time bombs, but mine never went to the shop for either.

My go-to airport in LA is Long Beach. One morning I was supposed to be flying out early. Small airport and precheck means I show up to the airport about 45 minutes before takeoff.

Direct sales would still be preferable.

I’m glad you’ve taken the time to come here multiples times now.

You could be more right than I was!

Yeah, I don’t blame anybody, not sure where you got that idea from.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say I was prepared to buy it.

None of those have anything to do with a fantasy setting, though
