This is...ideal.
This is...ideal.
Yeah I think I would like this. I don’t think that true intimacy means being entwined in every aspect of your life or sharing a bathroom or even a bed every night. Intimacy is different for everyone.
I don’t have any clever punishment ideas or good stories of office theft, but we DO have a major problem with the “privacy rooms” in our office. These rooms are for new mothers who need to pump, and there’s a whole calendar scheduling situation for the women in the office because you gotta stay on schedule!
Totally...and my point is not that women who do get episiotomies are somehow “failures”, but rather that it’s appalling that so many women are given episiotomies that are violating, unnecessary, or are the result of many decisions made for them throughout their pregnancy and labor/delivery by medical professionals…
Sorry, isn’t this the exact plot of the TV show Good Girls? But replace mobsters with robbers?
Anyone remember Shining Time Station? I don’t actually remember a whole lot about it, except for the part where they like showed the inside of the juke box? And I think Ringo Starr was in it?
Well then obviously I’d tear my clothes off immediately
Ok but like...I’d be even LESS inclined to hook up with a guy who has had obvious cosmetic surgery so...
Yes, god help you if you’re in a school that has decided on abstinence-only sex education. I give a lot of credit to my mom, who was super active in the second-wave feminism of the 1970's. She placed high value on sexual/reproductive health and education, and insisted that I be educated in all matters related to my…
Amazing. Enjoy that time! It goes incredibly fast. Congrats again, wishing you at least 5 hrs of uninterrupted sleep :)
UGH. Fuck that doctor!!! You should have been allowed to labor however the fuck you felt like laboring. This is the other element of the issue, aside from the lack of education women get on their options for labor & delivery. Doctors are just focused on what’s easier for THEM, not what’s best for the mother. I’m sorry…
Yes, same here. And how I wish that wasn’t the response! I wish it was unremarkable that a woman would choose to give birth without medical intervention.
Yes, psychologically overwhelming for sure. It’s scary to give yourself over to such a primal experience, and I say that as someone who HATES being out of control or openly expressing my emotions. I had a very supportive partner, and a very patient and caring midwife and doula so I felt pretty comfortable but I’m sure…
Totally...everyone’s experience is different. I had two very textbook labors & deliveries, so obviously I can’t speak to a situation where the baby is breech, or transverse, or anything like that. I imagine my approach would have been different had that been the case. I sure was begging for an epidural with my first…
I’ve given birth twice and tore twice. I was explicit in my preference for NO EPISIOTOMY unless it was necessary to save the baby’s life or mine. I was lucky enough to give birth in a hospital that was ok with an unmedicated labor and was attended by a midwife who did things like pressing a warm towel against my…
This is the worst of all the shit that women are subjected to in this process. A friend of mine had a doctor who oh so nicely gave her a “husband stitch” or something when he was sewing her up after the birth of her son. Sex is now super painful for her and as a result, she doesn’t enjoy it and nor does her husband.…
I read that as it was just a thing they told Grey Worm to get him chill. They must all know that the night’s watch is not a thing and is more just a homebase for the wildlings or something.
They missed a huge opportunity to have Brienne start her OWN PAGE in the knight’s yearbook or whatever tf that thing is. Instead she just wrote Jaime’s sweet lil ending and that was it. C’mon!
Also: listen to behind the bastards podcast, they do a 2-ep series on the Sacklers. The New Yorker article from last year also does a super thorough deep dive.
I’ve been re-watching the series, since I hadn’t revisited the earlier seasons since they aired. There’s a ton of foreshadowing that Dany will follow in her father’s footsteps, go crazy, and fuck shit up.
