Played both games in the series and am looking forward to Dreamfall Chapters, but I really, really don't dig the hype the devs are trying to build up around this game. I lost track of how many times the guy used buzz words like "rich", "explorable world", "incredible story", "everything's connected" etc. in this video

"I'll write some more up later."

This comment is bad and you should feel bad.

Oh I agree, it's not bad at all. What I'm saying, though, is that we have no insight to his personal situation and he might as well take advantage of the (presumably) free sex as long as he's in the relationship.

But what if he's a deadbeat (as in broke)? :)

Better than paying for sex, don'cha think?

I could kiss you for the second paragraph.

One can only hope.

Obligatory "give us Oni 2" comment.

This is so gonna win. I'm not even going to bother clicking through the rest.

Posted this in the other Berserk PS2 thread already a couple days ago. Doesn't hurt to prolong exposure I guess.

Someone's still working on it, though they're a bit petty with the subscription whoring.

Agreed, those games look incredible, but there's no mistaking them for anime productions. While I do think they will only keep getting better (closer to the real thing), they'll never be able to perfectly emulate the look. First and foremost that's because these games move on a 3d pane, whereas anime moves on a 2d

That depends on what you mean. Somebody brought up Disney's Paperman short, for instance, which was absolutely gorgeous. They really make an effort to portray the charm of 2d animation.

I assume the final release is going to be a simple patch file that you can apply to any valid DVD image of the Japanese game. Whether you choose to emulate it or burn it to a DVD and play it in a modded PS2 is entirely up to you.

Yes, that is what I'm talking about, but I haven't seen Gundam Unicorn so I can't comment on that (though I imagine it's still plainly visible).

That is exactly what I'm saying. It's wrong because it's not drawn animation, which is the whole point of anime. Manga artists who take photos, run them through some filters, and then print the result onto their pages (à la Gantz) are equally wrong if you ask me.

That doesn't make it any better or okay to do it though.

Fair enough. :)
