My point exactly.

So much this. I live in an area with 1/4-mile on-ramps where virtually every freeway is beneath natural grade (so you go downhill to get onto the freeway), and I regularly am behind people driving all sorts of new, powerful vehicles that can’t get up to speed (65, generally) in 1/4 mile on a downhill. I drive a

Clearly, the whole problem could be resolved if everyone was driving the correct (ie “my”) speed. (Well, except for the guy matching my speed in my blind spot. He needs to back the F off.)
Everyone else is either an idiot or a maniac.

Generally if there are traffic lights and left turns the “passing lane” rule does not apply.

There’s another weird thing going on anymore too. I find if you pass someone and get back into the right lane in front of them, them just seeing you in front of them makes them feel obligated to pass you now, even though you were going 10 mph faster than them before passing. This has happened to me many times and

I especially love those losers who merge onto a freeway and go straight to the left lane whether the freeway is full or empty. On a side note, those idiots that merge on the highway and nail the brakes on the onramp deserve 1 year of boot camp.

In the US, where most drivers are less cooperative than your average kindergartener, I’m pretty sure your wife is right and it would cause a road rage incident. Unless the driver was in a Buick, Camry, or Prius, then they would probably just panic and slam on the brakes.

We have signs reminding people not to hang in the left lane....... Guess what? Yep, they still do.

This is the interior to the Orion from 2001: A Space Odyssey—a movie that’s half a century old:

Why buy a 9 year old Mercedes with 140,000 miles when you could literally do anything else with $7500 and probably come out further ahead?

Why not just buy a < $5000 beater and continue saving money then? It seems the $12~$15K market is tricky.

You can still do this today at smaller airfields. Most pilots are pretty cool peeps. Dickheads seemed to have infiltrated a lot of FBO’s though. So if you’re caught aimlessly about even at a public airfield, they get all hissy. They also don’t want to sell avgas to ultralight pilots anymore (pump fuel is a huge no-no
