there is still a certain irony to me that these startup’s that all branded themselves as “new!,” “fresh!,” and “different!” than the current crop of automakers, yet seem to be hitting the same pitfalls.
It sounds like they also did some suspension tuning to account for the new tires along with some aero tweaks... so it’s not that simple. You point still stands, but there was some work involved here.

That would hurt a lot of middle class families unless it was a tiered system. The median inheritance is $67k (avg: $177) Which is not much more than a parent’s house when divided amongst heirs. Many middle class familes use that to put towards retirement or college for their kids. $67k seems like a lot to inherit, but…
I feel you. But it won’t happen fast enough and I don’t think the majority of Trump voters will make the attribution. Trump will blame it on Obamacare or something and they’ll keep voting.

Interesting point, I’d broadly agree. I think he has faced some negotiating situations where he had strong allies (I’m thinking of the situations in which big banks were foreclosing on his bankrupt deals). But instances of him “winning” are, as you point out, just screwing over little guys.
It’s been said time and again, but I’m sure that Trump just has no clue how to negotiate with equals. When he was screwing over contractors he was always negotiating from a position of power, where he could redefine the terms of an agreement and his opponent either had to accept the loss or spend more that the value…

Meanwhile, US Manufatcuring is still BOOMING. As a country, our output is 80% higher than it was 30 years ago (Pre-NAFTA, btw). Our population has grown less than 30% over the same time period.
