The twins are both manufactured at Subaru’s Gunma plant, so it goes beyond just parts. It really feels like Toyota’s trying to spread work around through collaboration to buy time and wait for other non-Japanese brands to fail.  Yes, I know BMW doesn’t fit that narrative.

Very different cars.

really the tC was the successor to the Celica all along.

I always wondered why the GR86 got a name that harkened back to the Corolla rather than the Celica. It sure seems more Celica to me.

I agree that the GR86 could stand to use a little more “oomph”, or even that it could benefit from dropping the boxer engine; but AWD?

I don’t believe the temp I see when I start the car, especially in hot weather. Once I’ve been moving for a bit, it usually settles down more or less in line with other sources (phone, displays on business signs along the road).

Yep, I rented a 6mt GR86 through Turo on a long weekend through Canadian Rockies that was part of a larger trip. Wife and I each had a large checked bag and large daypack. Ate all 4 bags with ease. I had a friend with the previous gen BRZ and felt that the opening was larger. Trunk looked the same size, just larger

MR-2 could be a neat entry into the sport hybrid market too.

the way the weather station measures temperature is in a shaded box... so their temp isnt necessarily representative of what you’re feeling when youre sitting on the backtop either... theyre all gonna have their own inaccuracies depending on where you measure.

Its silly, it really is. Also goes to show just how good the GR86/BRZ chassis is.

I would not want AWD in my BRZ. Had Subaru gone that route, I would understand; AWD is their thing... But it would have put me in an MX-5 instead.

New question when applying for auto insurance:

The olden days method of tapping the starter when all you are getting is a “click” out of turning the key no longer applies?

Wwaiting for the following resolution:

EVs with eleventy-billion horsepower and instant acceleration. What could possibly go wrong in the hands of the unwashed masses, even when they are working properly - never a given with a Tesla product.

If only there was a way to open a lock without electricity...

There’s a manual switch in the driver’s side armrest there’s a manual switch in the drivers side armrest but that won’t help if you’re locked out but that won’t help if you’re locked out.

Whenever Musk is talking about population stuff, you gotta remember to substitute “people” with “white people from Western countries” and it’ll all make perfect sense. This is just old-fashioned white supremacist eugenics that’s thinly veiled behind some science-y language to make it more palatable.

So 8 billion is not enough, eh?  Anyone want to tell this to fish stocks, pollution monitors, microplastic researchers, or anyone driving through LA at pretty much any time during the day?
