All kids, but especially girls, should be taught that math and science are for everybody not just some select geniuses. Girls shouldn't be taught that if they don't pick something up immediately it means they are just naturally bad at it and encouraged to give it up entirely.

It's great that everyone wants to express their *personal style* but I think we've reached peak offbeat bride. I know I'm saying this on wedding part of this site, but lets be honest the truly offbeat bride is really the one who doesn't marry. Come at me! I'm ready to fight.

I don't know, I love whiskey as much as any other (drunk) American but lately I've been craving vodka. I'm not talking about the shitty Skol I drank in college, but something neat and clean tasting. The best vodka I ever had was given to me by a beautiful Quebecois bartender who offered me a shot and gherkin chaser

Seriously, the only time I want to hear the word female is in a nature documentary. For example, "After coitus the female of the species devours the her mate." That sounds just fine.

Close up of a shadow. Put that shit in black in white. ?????? Get likes.

Another representative asked, "So just for clarification would it be considered, by definition of assault, that one time when I was nineteen and Heather had once smiled at me and twice spoken to me once. Er, uh, how much Peach Schnapps would she had to have consumed for my awkwardly trying to grope her breast be non

Sry repeat post

Oh, I'm definitely not trying to say people who grew up religious become bad people. I feel like I know a lot of great people who grew up religious but felt shame, anxiety, and alienation from their communities. My comment isn't to say that I hope people had terrible experiences with religion. I'm glad that other

Does anybody have good, healthy, positive associations with growing up in a religious family? I feel a solidarity with other people who grew up Catholic, but for the most part we are talking shit about how messed up it was. I'm not saying that every Catholic is terrible, it really needs to be something you choose as

I kind of like that the fashion world seems to both not really care about but also run with Cara's self identified queerness. There's usually some element of forced sexxxiness with models, whether it's an open mouth or smoldering looks. To be honest it usually looks rigid and boring, at least Cara seems to have

Yes, that's a brand identity I can support!

Kit, a 29-year-old single woman who, Shannon told me, "is looking to buy her first apartment, but is still renting. She works in the creative area, like in graphic design or fashion, and loves to bike on weekends"; and Ace, a 32-year-old similarly groovy guy, who drinks strong coffee, "likes to go to breweries and

Ugh, gross and chilling. You're a champ for slogging through these books. Obviously Cosby is responsible for his actions, but his cultural outlook is really telling here. Is it any surprise that a man convinced that the ideal male sexuality is hunting and conquest and the ideal female sexuality is, well, having no

I dunno, I can see the conservative appeal of having a generation of Dickensian waifs riddled with disease and disability. Think of the stories they could tell about pulling themselves up by their leg brace straps! Roll back child labor laws and let the little scamps toil in the factories, then they can work their way

Well, exceptions can be made for one female character (with limited lines) and one sidekick of color. Obviously. Why cant people be satisfied with that!

I know right? Rihanna sprang to mind for that role, even if she was a terrible actress I would totally watch. The woman he was interviewing suggested Sigourney Weaver during that time would have been a good pick too. These arguments are terrible.

Dating for 6 months seems like an odd amount of time. I feel like I know within a very short amount of time whether I like somebody or I don't. I can't deal with causally dating people who I feel lukewarm about. But then again, I've usually only wanted long term partners, not a spouse.

A radio interviewer on NPR of all things seemed totally baffled by this as well. He kept asking desperately "but will boys watch it?!?" and saying that Hollywood cant just replace male actors with female ones and asking mockingly if they could replace Rambo with a woman. Yeah, dude, Hollywood is totally known for

I think is is almost on the right track, minus the whole "bad for your soul" comment. Lets be honest, any job within capitalistic cogs is going to be "bad for your soul" whether you are in an office or a porn set. Lots of ways people have to make money wear you down and are bad for people in general. The porn industry

I imagine loneliness is pretty common for people 18-29 (kind of like everybody) but them especially because at the first half of that age group you are supposed to have more friends than you know what to do with, and at the end of that age group you're supposed to be happily coupled. If you don't feel like you measure
