They actually told the employee it was a minor infraction and he would be back to being Mr Met in a few days. After X-Rays came back the employee was told it still was not that serious and he would only not be Mr Met for 10-15 days. Then Marc Carig broke this.

If they really wanted to make it realistic, they’d say he tore his finger tendon and will be out for the rest of the season.
