The exposed skin argument doesn’t really hold up. Her clothes could have been made from linen, which you can easily breathe through. The past couple of years of mask wearing have also proven that there are a number of fabrics that we can breathe through.

Indeed, Fast RMX on Switch and Redout everywhere else fill the void quite capably, thankfully without the kart-racer weapon system (making them superior experiences IMO).
