I’ve bought the game twice- once on PC and again on PS5 to enable easier couch co-op with my fiancé. The love and effort they put into this game is amazing. They’ve also made roughly a billion dollars in sales.

Traditionally speaking you are probably right, that he isn’t even feminist in any way, so also isn’t really a TERF vs a regular reactionary transphobe. But he once declared himself “team TERF’ on stage, so the moniker is self chosen.

As much as it would suck seeing that hack bigot wander onstage for the curtain call, imagine the extra sting of seeing your colleagues and coworkers eagerly embracing him.

I think the difference is that while those games are clearly inspired by pokemon, none of those creatures really look like specific Pokemon, which is definitely not true for this game. Most of those ones I’ve seen that are clearly “inspired” by certain Pokemon still seem legally distinct enough to not be a problem but…

My favorite part of this story is that nintendo hasn’t actually said anything. People are getting defensive over armchair analysis. 

Reminds me of yesterday, with the news that Sports Illustrated is laying off its entire staff, when I saw people on Twitter insisting it’s because the swimsuit issue started including trans and plus-sized models. It couldn’t be that print is dying in general, or anything, right?
