lol, bro, the people making those subreddits go dark do, collectively, millions of dollars worth of unpaid labor a year keeping the site running. Rethink thinking

This dude really wrote six angry paragraphs about Reddit drama and ended it by calling other people “keyboard warriors.”

The small minority here are largely mods that depend on third party apps that aid in moderating subreddits. It has little to do with avoiding ads and everything to do with having good tools that remain absent on the main app.

That “small minority” is an all-volunteer work force that keeps Reddit functional. The mods go away, the site goes away. You have genuinely no idea how much free labor Reddit is just throwing out the window with this move.

If I said I was CEO because some moistened shareholders lobbed stock options at me they put me away!

Except you’re missing the larger, more important issue:

This was the only possible outcome. Capitalism fosters this. It’s really funny how often you see an article or comment that’s like, “Wow, I can’t believe we live in a system that rewards greed and for some reason a bunch of people and corporations are being as greedy as possible!” Yeah, what else was going to happen?

“Now, please let all of the uber-entitled keyboard warriors eager to take up the cause of the week flame me below. Your rage fueled tirades will only serve to make me laugh.”

I like how you write your own tirade and then just immediately, preemptively shut down any possible response by dismissing them as written by

Nothing screams “I’m not bothered or riled up” like a wall of text about how funny it is to you. Reddit is (soon to be was) a platform run by its users, ya dink. All your presuppositions are wrong

Theres one little problem with this argument. The issue isn’t that Reddit wants to charge for it’s API, but that the amount they want to charge is astronomical and way higher than other websites such as Imgur, and the extremely short timeline they gave with pricing information.

I hate how many of the things I’ve liked over the years turning into complete garbage in the name of pumping stockholder value by any means necessary

You know what’s more akin to a landed gentry? Corporate CEOs. The Reddit employees didn’t vote you, ya dickwad (insert Monty python reference).

Aerospace engineer here.

1. I thought a lot of existing planes flew in the transonic region. Looking it up the old 747 cruises between 550-600 mph, so I don’t know if this is a big advantage in speed.

So these whales have sunk the boats, sending people into the water...and none of those people have been injured or killed by the whales. Curious.

It’s even more hilarious if you know about the *real* Adam Smith (go and listen to Freakonomics’ 3-episode series on him)

Couldn’t the same be said about any hobby/pro thing, like gaming? It also has a professional aspect where the “why” is different and the main purpose isn’t the same as the casual scene. I don’t think most people would say you can’t call that gaming though.

I appreciate the comment but I mean... Can’t you just ban the very person who is very obviously mentally unwell, and is repeatedly saying that? Your comment is about people facing acceptable punishment for breaking rules, why not set such an example?

Fortnite: Splatoon Edition

And Red 13. That’s clearly supposed to be the aftermath of the freeway chase.
