There’s an important element that I think more articles like this needs to bring up: Microsoft has an advantaged position in Washington among tech giants. They direct regulatory attention towards their rivals.

Microsoft is weaponizing the US Congress. The argument from Microsoft refers to “advanced” consoles in an effort to dismiss the Nintendo Switch and focus on Sony. I’m sure this concern will magically go away if only Sony withdraws its objections and the FCC will approve the Activision acquisition.

Right? I’m kinda impressed at the sheer persistence, but good LORD what a waste of their time and energy.
