Oh I hear you, but I still find those collector cels iffy ethically, as they were passed off as real production cels, and aesthetically as they were butt ugly and weird.

Just sayin' - those were Disney's artistic goals. I couldn't care less if his work met the lofty expectations of the easily bored Girard.

It's quite charming.

They are great achievements in animation and all but none of those are near as FUNNY as even a middling Friz Freleng cartoon.

I'm sorry but I think those are hideous.

The goal was to be beautiful, magnificent, innovative, heartwarming, and a lot of other things, with funny being down near the bottom of the list.

Disney shorts were never funny, nor was that really their goal.

And that reason is that he went on a egomaniacal, credit claiming spree in the 70's and 80's in an attempt to diminish the contributions of the other WB directors (especially Clampett).

It's a good thing he earned that lifetime pass - he definitely spent his goodwill in his later years with all those crappy collector cels with the weird eyelashes.
