How do they not realize that this story makes them look worse? First, it still shows that Trump was wrong/lying about being wiretapped. Second, it volunteers the information that the campaign was in contact with foreign nationals who were already being investigated by our intelligence agencies.

Remember how much work it took to make Obamacare happen? Even after the monumental task of passing it, remember how tough it was to actually make happen? The rough launch. The 24/7 work to fix those problems quickly. The millions upon millions of dollars and thousands of hours spent defending it.

He never cared about this and would rather it fails. He just wanted to check it off the list so he won’t have to think about complicated stuff anymore. He gets to throw up his hands, say “I tried, but they betrayed you,” and move on without doing the hard work of making a new plan happen.

Manafort was definitely the point man, but the others didn’t just start getting involved at his bidding. Most seem to have ties that even predate the Trump campaign. Just as Trump’s own Russian business ties do. He surrounded himself with these people for a reason.

If it were just Manafort, option 2 would make sense. But we already know that half a dozen members of his inner circle are similarly connected, and the investigation has barely begun.

I really appreciate when he does shit like this so I don’t have to feel so dumb for hating him.
