@ripfire: I'm not with AT&T, but that is the price they list on their website for plans sold with the iPhone 4.

@MollyNYC: Just make sure it's not still holding a charge! You don't want it to be that kind of lesson.

Also important to note is the difference in price. AT&T charges $45/month for 2GB data with tethering ($25 without) and Verizon charges $30/month for unlimited, which I would assume comes with tethering.

This looks promising. I had my eye on the Alienware m11x as my next machine (for schoolwork and photoshop), but with enough RAM, this might be able to take its place... for half the price.

This is not legal where I live (Germany), at least for dogs anyway. Either you buy insurance, or you don't have a dog. The reason? If your dog causes personal injury or property damage, your insurance company foots the bill.

@oyumurtaci: It has even been proven to be safe. The reason cell phones are still prohibited is simply that they annoy other passengers. As for the 'no electronics under 10,000 feet' rule, I expect that this is a measure to keep passengers attentive in case of an emergency.

These things are great in theory, but are actually quite harmful to the environment (more so than conventional fire logs) and also very hazardous (the ash can block chimneys and cause fires).

@uncle_jojo_lives: It looks to me like the rubberized coating around the cable is molded to be bent already (more pictures at the source link).

I organize my Android home screens by priority. Apps I use often are on the center home screen and apps I use the most often (sms, e-mail, etc) are at the bottom of the screen, closest to my thumbs. Widgets always go at the top, so I don't have to reach for apps.

I always get jealous when I see articles about all the streaming options available in the US. Ever since I moved to Germany, I have been left in the dark by copyright restrictions and anemic DSL connections.

A morning run and/or an ice-cold shower can do wonders for the morning blues.

"This video contains content from National Geographic, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds." :-(

@d.nahmiasleonard: Have you tried scrubbing with vinegar and baking soda or steel wool?

@pschroeter: I have found Opera's Turbo feature invaluable for less-than-ideal connections like this. It compresses web pages using Opera's servers and makes even dial-up almost bearable. Using mobile sites as opposed to full-featured ones can speed things up too.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I have a question relating to photography. I have built myself a lightbox out of foam board (cost: about 10 bucks as opposed to about 50 for a store-bought one). For the lighting, I was wondering if a full-spectrum bulb would produce noticeably better conditions than a normal one.

I'm surprised Google Talk is so popular. I've had my G1 for about 2 years and I've never touched it. I've always used Meebo, even for my Google contacts.

@Billy_McSkintos: Ive discovered that cleaning the fan occasionally can really extend the life of computers. If your iMac is sounding like that, it's probably time.
