Also, Glass Onion just came out, this Clue design has probably been around internally for months at least to have hit stores already.

Wait... is nobody going to point out the irony of claiming that Clue is taking inspiration from Glass Onion? A movie that takes ample opportunity to specifically call it out as a terrible game (which it is)?
people have always been like and into this stuff. the internet has just made people (like you in this case) more aware of it.
A smart update on Hasbro’s part, turning the game from a who done it murder mystery, to a who can get it thirst fest.
Yes, Chef.

How are careers endangered? The only careers “endangered” are the people with enough wealth and power that it’s impossible to endanger their status in the 1%. They’re the only people who if this game is profitable or not will be affected. The people who worked on the game were paid in full and rightfully so. The only…
People that worked on the game were paid for working on the game. Only stakeholders like Warner Brothers or Rawling matter when it comes to the game being profitable. Try to find another reasonable sounding reason until you analyze it to excuse you not doing anything.
“Paul, who’s been on something of a redemption arc these last few years following the “suicide forest” fiasco in December 2017"
What possible sequence of events could have occurred for you to put forward the suggestion that Paul has been on ‘a redemption arc’ beyond the bare minimum of not going back to a suicide…
I might have agreed if it wasn’t for the fact the Rowling herself has SPECIFICALLY stated that she believes the continued large royalties she get prove that she’s right and that most people agree with her, and she should keep on doing what she’s doing.
“Your choice to purchase, or not to purchase, this game has absolutely no impact on Rowling.”
It’s only emotional blackmail if you feel blackmailed. I, on the other hand, recognize hyperbole motivated by justifiable fear of transphobes.
Then you legitimately don’t give a shit.
It’s like eating at chic-fil-a. If you choose to go there when it’s extremely well-known what they support, that will color my judgment of you. You don’t have to care about me, of course, but do you have any queer friends at all? Maybe a closeted trans friend you don’t know about who will now feel unsafe near you?
Of course, I was just addressing the point that the OP made. The continued success of HP means the continued relevance and platform of Rowling.
This is why I’ll probably buy the game and, if the first hour or so is decent, I won’t return it.
Saying that you don’t care Rowling’s views is no different than sticking your head in the sand. If it’s the choice of phrasing that you disagree with, sure but it doesn’t change the point.
This is a big thing to me - she’s out there daily spreading a lot of negativity towards a marginalized population. She’s an active bully.
“The story is the bigger issue though, like what the hell. Why am I mowing down sentient, intelligent creatures that want equal rights?”
And it’s the “Rowling simply just gets a cut...one way or the other” that encapsulates why I’m not comfortable purchasing or playing this game.
