I find the “Microsoft is just a poor little company. There’s nothing wrong with the merger” talk so, so weird.

It’s just really weird. Fraser has been obese. The writer has been heavy, we don’t know how heavy but I’m guessing a lot worse than merely “overweight”. Aronofsky isn’t either but I don’t think, as a fat person, that being fat is hard to comprehend, and I don’t think “fat-positive” stuff is helpful when it’s about

The weirdest part about this is that commenters (and most of the internet) has been incredibly vocal about how unrealistic and difficult it would be for a 600-pound person to be an actor in this role... But the writers of some of these articles don’t even acknowledge that point. Pretty much every time someone says:

The only question is really, does the author REALLY feel what they wrote in this article? Or are they just manipulating us into commenting with their purposely one-sided arguments?

I heard they tried to change this site to

And the complaint about the fat suit...yeah, the filmmakers should’ve just found someone who’s actually 600 pounds but has the stamina, mobility, and overall wellbeing to star in a feature film, and also has acting ability akin to Brendan Fraser. What could go wrong.

And they sure as hell didn’t need Fraser or any other actor pounding milkshakes to gain weight.

But I’m perfectly happy if we never make another movie about some fat fuck.

As an actual fat guy (300lbs at 6'2"), I feel like Rich sneering at “non-fat” people making a movie, when he himself is, if the internet is truthful, muscular and ripped as fuck (I’m impressed), is frankly a bit fucked up. Brendan was for many years a hell of a lot heavier than Rich is suggesting. He was obese even!

Agreed. For the wrong reasons or not, there are just not a lot of skilled actors who fit the actual body type depicted.

Did no one think, “Maybe a movie about a fat guy made by non-fat people needs to do a little bit more than describe fatness as prescription for misery?

It’s not like Fraiser was a skinny guy when he made it, he was husky to say the least. The movie did not need to hire a 600 pound person for the movie.

Stopped in my tracks along with the audience when Kevin’s voice came and said “I am Batman!”

Kevin lives.

Don’t vote Republican. Not ever, not for anything, not even for dog-catcher. A vote for a Republican is a vote for evil, nothing less. Never vote Republican. Not even once.

Exactly

How else is an unknown GOP ghoul gonna get donations from hate groups if they don’t put their name out there?

The MacBook Apple Air M1 8GB/256GB you’ve been pointing at for $849 has been going for $800 on Amazon and Best Buy and maybe even less if you’re lucky enough to have a Microcenter nearby.

Apple lists this refurbished 512GB iPhone 11 Pro Max for $899, $400 less than its retail value.

I’ve been buying Apple certified refurbs for years and years. Never had a problem with them. Yeah they could be cheaper, but I’ve found them to be as reliable as new items.

There are dozens of minimalist IKEA couches poorly fitted with sheets and a small pillow, and then there’s a private room with a queen bed outfitted like a hotel room. I think the latter might be reserved for someone special and precious.
