And hey, that’s cool! Honestly, I wasn’t familiar with her before this, but streaming should be open for everyone so I’m happy she found a place on Twitch. I’m sad to think about what this might mean for her career as a Twitch streamer, though.

It is jarring and more than a little disturbing that we are now into full on ‘death to the Jews’ territory, and the fucking right-wing is like ‘yeah, that’s cool.’ Not even trying to dog whistle it, just throwing it right out there.

I think people are pissed because Twitch hasn’t responded to the incident. While the booth was Lenovo’s, it was Twitch’s conference.

It won’t.  Waivers are required but do not prevent lawsuits; I think at best, they help minimize the damage award.

Or maybe they shouldn't say foam pit when it's a foam puddle

Maybe tech companies should focus on actually promoting their tech in a way that doesn’t involve foam pits

Somehow, I don’t think a waiver is going to save them. Nor should it. Let the lawsuit begin.

A false equivalence, in my opinion.

Have you ever noticed that credit cards seem to expire sooner than they used to, and now instead of getting a new one every 4-5 years it’s reissued every 2 years?

“Siri, what’s the difference between irreverence and a 2000 year history of oppression and slaughter (often at the hand of Catholics)?”

Can this asshole just crash and burn already? Like, seriously, he is a danger and needs to lose his influence.

There are some very messed up people out there. That they lept to those “jokes” is just disturbing.

*Woman is seriously injured*

Every conversation I’ve ever had with a lawyer about those waivers is that they’re basically worthless if you have a lawyer who’s at least minimally competent.

Depends on the language of the waivers, and there are things that a waiver cannot actually waive.

I hope they bleed them for all they’re worth. fuckers.

In Britain, the police would’ve been armed with extending batons, possibly tasers, wearing anti-stab vests and trained in de-escalation and non-lethal takedowns. It’s probably harder than you think to rush police from a distance and inflict a fatal stab wound on the person they’re talking to, when they’re already

You think if he started attacking his wife with a butcher knife, the two policemen present wouldn’t have had a much better chance of stopping him before he killed her? Knives can kill people, sure, but they don’t do it as quickly and easily, and they leave a lot more time and opportunity for other people to be heroes.

The presence of a gun in itself make the action more likely to happen. The presence of a gun multiply the chance of a woman being murdered by her spouse by 5. Part of it is mindset sure, a person more likely to kill their spouse is also more likely to have a gun, but part of it is that it doesn’t take the same mindset

Just hope don't miscarry first.
