@avclub-d93d61e88dc1dd7d03b37803ad31302c:disqus  Because it wasn't a dream and no one was dead the whole time (except Jack's dad, of course).

When I die, I want to go to a different purgatory where I can watch and discuss LOST all day and night with everyone else who loved the show as much as I did. Damon Lindelof is totally invited.

There's a reason the Constitution encourages gridlock. It should be really fucking hard to pass or repeal a law (much harder than it is now, in my opinion).

Are there "Like" trolls now? How can a comment that is just blatantly wrong get multiple "Likes"?

I keep asking this because this seems to be a major complaint, but no one can give me a good answer: Which questions were unresolved?

See my reply to @olivececile:disqus above, but I don't think you're right that the "vast majority were watching lost for the mysteries". We watched because we cared about these characters and wanted to know how they all changed/didn't change because of this traumatic event. And if you think that no character changed

They were interested in the mystery because that's how they drove the plot (and they resolved plenty of the mysteries along the way), but ultimately the characters mattered more than the plot, and that was evident in every single episode. You can argue that you didn't like the characters or their development, but what

I think most haters didn't want to understand it. They knew going in that no ending would satisfy them, so they didn't even bother trying before they started spewing their hate. And I don't think you can blame Lindelof. Because A) there is Cuse, who is also responsible, and B) because that is the ending they wrote.

It looks like you do since you clicked on the article and made the effort to leave a comment about it.

I can't think of any, but if you write and develop a good one, I'll watch it.

Husband and wife sitcoms with two less-than-attractive leads usually don't last that long. Roseanne is one exception, but since she was really the lead, I don't know if that's truly an exception. People like watching attractive people, so this will be a thing forever. Get over it or don't watch.

I wouldn't say "beautiful". She's sexy in an Ellen Barkin way.

I loved the finale, but it's very hard for me to be able to justify as the best ever. I loved the stuff on the island, and I liked the explanation of Sideways, but it wasn't even the best episode of the show - maybe it cracks the Top 5. It was a fantastic show overall (despite what the haters say), but the finale

Semantics, but I don't think the point was that they were all going to die together. It was that they would keep fighting, no matter the odds. So if they somehow won that battle, there would be another just like it or worse the next week, and they would be up for that, too.

Not if any episode post-season three is any indication. [Achievement unlocked! Needlessly Trashed A TV Show]

I don't know how the penultimate episode would be considered stronger. That image of Vic sitting powerless at that desk is how I'll always remember him now. To have that image burned into my brain after all of the nasty shit he did is pretty remarkable.

Any of several season finales of that show could serve as one of the all-time great series finales: The one you mention. Everyone cursing in the restaurant. The Producers episode with Larry not fucking a woman because she's a Republican. Larry David certainly knows how to do finales.

Yes: the people who rooted for Walter White.

In terms of most fitting finale, this is the winner by several miles. In terms of just being a great final hour of a TV show, this still wins. I think if this episode didn't exist, Walter White would have had a similar fate - alive, but stuck in his own personal hell for who knows how long.

If you look at the last four episodes as the ending to the story of Walter White, it's actually more like Lord of the Rings Return of the King extended version. You get a satisfying conclusion to a great story, and then another hour and a half of good stuff that you wish would go a bit faster.
