seven-deuce:

Jordan: "Masterpiece" is a stretch. Actually, it's not even close. The bookend scenes were Movie-Of-The-Week bad. Taking the beach - amazing. The scenes between the taking of the beach and when the squad actually gets under way slow the movie down and explain way too much. The next hour-ish is awesome. Then the last

Jordan Orlando: Hate it. Not funny. Never understood its appeal.

"…all these snotty articles wherein he trashes Saving Private Ryan…"

Even with 35+ years of hindsight, "Best" is not "Most Influential". You can argue what the Academy Awards should mean or how much of a joke the awards have become, but "Best" is pretty clear. Annie Hall, by virtually every standard, is a better movie than Star Wars. And I say that having grown up on all things Star

For me, Megan Ward was the easily the hottest girl on that show. Something about Neve's appearance always bugged me, and years later when she did nudity in some crappy movie, I saw that her body was, to put it mildly, "mannish". Seeing her body shut down any feelings of attraction that I may have had.

Maybe I was influenced having read the book (and having guessed what would happen long before the actual wedding), but the buildup to me was kind of blah. Um, Spoiler Alert, for those three or four people who don't know what happens at the Red Wedding: Robb bringing his new bride (which doesn't happen in the book)

There is really nothing else on TV that can come close to creating the drama that football does since EVERY GOAL MATTERS. That's why I've pretty much stopped watching every other sport. The fact that a game (that in this case could have been worth tens of millions of actual dollars) can change in less than 20 seconds

I think Dany "buying" the Unsullied tops the Red Wedding, and any other scene this year. I've read the books 3+ times (some parts more than others), and that scene from the show still resonates with me. It even had more surprise value in the book as it genuinely appeared that Dany was willing to sell one of her kids,

Rachel's character certainly "grew" the most on the show, but Matt LeBlanc grew the most as an actor. The latter seasons would have been hard to watch if not for him. That whole game show plot was played brilliantly by Matt, and asking him to do that episode in an early season would have been a stretch. Confident and

The gay/lesbian jokes never seemed offensive to me because they usually were meant to point out a character's insecurity, rather than be a mean joke about homosexuality. Even the Huey Lewis lookalike joke isn't mean because there are many lesbians that could, by choice, pass for Huey.

When he was asked not to reveal that he knew about them after the "they don't know that we know that they know" bit, his expression when he responded, "Even if I wanted to", was priceless.

That whole plot was great, but the best moment of that episode was when Joey saw them eating cheesecake off of the floor, pulled out his (presumably always-there) fork and asked, "What are we having?"

Didn't he also suggest Shrewnami? Maybe "Four Sharknadoes and a Shrewnami"?

Sharknado 2: Electric Eels, Too!

The $1 Million "Sharkboys and Aliens" would be far superior to the $163 Million "Cowboys and Aliens".

I'm glad I read this. It made me remember how great seasons 2&3 + Dinner Party are. I stopped watching in the middle of Phyllis's wedding episode, which was just about the worst thing I'd ever seen. No one in his position, ever (even in a sitcom), would be as clueless as Michael was in that episode. I haven't watched

Some people are so blinded by hatred of "the other side" that they can't not bring it up, even when painfully out of context.

I never thought of David Brent as an asshole. I thought of him as The Loneliest Man In The World, which makes him a bit more sympathetic and the show much funnier. He certainly was delusional, though.

I'm sorry that that's the movie that you saw. I saw something much more complex and beautiful. It's not all about figuring out the plot - that part was easy. What was fun was figuring out why she dreamed a caper, why she dreamed about the cowboy, the director's wife's affair, the incompetent hitman, the guy with the
