Meanwhile, in my heart of hearts I am always judging people who spend too much time on their hair. I didn’t grow up in the US, so I’m unaware of a lot of prejudices, but reading this and the posts have helped clarify a few things.

When Keke won the World Championship, Frank Williams allowed him to smoke in the motorhome. Different times, etc.

Well, assuming there is a finite amount of money available (let’s not get into economics...); you’d have to spend more on the carrots and less on roads. But yes, I only drive because the public option would add over an hour and lots of chaos to my commute.

Speaking of recreating car culture, someone needs to start a NYC Kei Car Club. I’m saving up for one right now so that I can join.

Birth control will solve everything. If not, then earth will eventually fix the “human problem,” which will most likely be uncomfortable for all of us.

Sounds like Cervero is confirming a lot. People choose their means of commuting and where to live taking all available options into account. It doesn’t happen overnight, but widening a highway will add traffic as it makes living farther away/not using public transportation better options.

“The wife wants a bigger SUV type vehicle”

Are they in college?

That was probably better for him as well.

While bartending, I overheard a lady telling her friend why she had broken up with the guy who seemed perfect:

Reversing into a parking spot is a minor nuisance - reversing OUT of a parking spot can be a major hazard.

Circa 1998, I told my friend Ambs that test-tube babies don’t have navels. Last year I found out that she spent over a decade sharing this “factoid” with lots of other people. Heh.

Can’t wait to do this. Does it have to be a McDonalds?

I “liked” that comment only because a more nuanced button was unavailable.

It all looks like very shiny MS Paint to me.

...which would make me speed up and maybe swerve a bit.

How did I forget about that? Thanks.

You might get a parking ticket, but that’s pretty small change compared to the other costs of owning a car in the boroughs.

Full screen helps, but my neck still hurts from craning
