I deeply and thoroughly disagree with you. Just to make one counter point, the flashbacks directly commented on the themes and plot of the story. Most of which are found in traditional westerns: man vs nature, the taming of nature, the relationship between humans and animals. I think sci-fi western is probably one of

To answer your first question, literally yes. It’s a propaganda film just like the first one and we are all constantly being fed that shit by our government and culture.

Skinamarink has the kind of premise that I have no cap on. I will literally always watch shit with a premise like that. Shudder has a pretty good track record of movies (that all fall apart at the end) at this point. But I love them.

I think you are strongly incorrect in your assessment of show. It seems like you don’t understand the kind of restaurant they were portraying. Like, at all. And if you did, it seems like most of your issues here wouldn’t exist. (But I’m far too tired to elucidate on this atm, sorry. Look up the actual restaurant it

Definitely one of my top favorites too. It was like Lost except they didn’t play coy forever and everything eventually paid off and made sense.

Jfc, that show is so unbelievably awful. I noped out mid-first episode when it became clear that we were supposed to feel bad for HER after she outed a gay black man in the 60s. The absolute audacity of that writing.

I’m now on having the urge to shit on the third comedy someone has mentioned here and I’m starting to think, is it me? Is there something wrong with me? No, it’s the children who are wrong. Our Flag Means Death was cute, but not really that funny.

It’s such a weird show, I love it.

Oop . . . I totally agree. It’s perfectly pleasant and the characters are all mostly likeable, but there’s no depth there. And the will they/won’t they is extremely shallow and dull. I think people are responding mostly to the novelty of the setting depicting average people plus our country’s aching need to have

I don’t think it’s shit per se, but yeah I don’t get Derry Girls either. At the end of the day, I just don’t find it funny but I’m also not sure what other people see funny in it either. Very sitcom, very mugging instead of jokes. Very VERY broad premises that totally break with reality. I just don’t see it.

hope Mistress Brooks has some more tricks up her sleeve, because right now she just looks like a Eureka clone. Also, yeah for Connecticut?

Fuck me, I don’t know what to think after tonight. My Lyft driver went on and on about the big day he had planned on Thursday to go see this movie, how the first one is his favorite movie, how he’s so excited for it. It was so fuckin’ weird. I can’t help being a touch if asshole though so I was like, “Huh. Really?

Yeah, regardless of the general public’s current feelings, Westworld was a BIG DEAL when it debuted. This is very surprising and disturbing.

Yeah, I have to admit, HBOMAX is/was great. (I feel like your the first person to admit that out loud!) Their originals all felt like they had the same handpicked quality level of HBO proper. I was a subscriber back when it was an Amazon “channel”. Then they cut that off, making it harder to access.

Prey is sci fi, or at least, horror-sci-fi like Alien or The Thing. Nope, which was by FAR the best thing I saw all year, is just straight up sci fi. It’s bizarre to me that people keep trying to stuff it into the horror genre. I get the line is blurry quite often, but not here.

Closer to sci-fi imo.

I strongly disagree. The tense hurricane setting, the group of wild and sexy young adults, the increasingly grisly violence. All pretty solid staples of horror. I mean, did we even watch the same movie? C’mon.

Eh, Smile felt really really recycled to me. It wasn’t bad, but definitely not the best I watched this year.

Soooooo . . . you just woke up yesterday and said, “I think I’ll post all of insecurities in a public forum today!” Interesting.

I’m glad I’m finally getting old enough to differentiate between things that are truly poorly made and stuff that just doesn’t personally appeal to me.
