It’s just a weird story. The source material is weird, the original Disney version is super weird. Every other variation is weird. It’s just weird. It’s a weird and off putting story from a time period when childhood was thought about and treated very differently than it is now.

Ive seen literally no marketing for this movie and just a few pics from it now that is being reviewed. But that’s enough to make me notice how the character designs are so aggressively ugly. Seconded. It’s a cool movie with a great soundtrack but I was mostly surprised at how much I liked Hudson in it. She was given a pretty goofy accent too, but she nailed it and I stopped noticing it after a while.
