This book series and (appropriately enough) the 1967 movie were pretty freaky. Every subsequent iteration has dampened said freakiness.

Ah yes, that paragon of modern morality, China. I agree with you in spirit but anyone who advocates the idea of punishing death with more death is batshit crazy in my book.

No. I refuse to live on a planet where those two images are considered similar. Women have hair colors! Plaid exists! Winter! Wow!!!!

Well fuckin’ a. Without Gita I literally don’t have a reason to come here anymore. Gita and Josh were keeping the constant tsunami of ass-clowns on this site from overpowering things but, clearly, that war is lost thanks to the king ass-clown, Herb Spanfeller.

Good luck to you both on your future endeavors. I hope to Read more

Yuuuup. He’s always been this person. People have a five second attention span with him because he did one beloved thing. So he does a shitty thing, everyone’s shocked, and then they immediately forget and forgive until he does/says the next shitty thing ten minutes later. Rinse and repeat. Its infuriating.

Let’s not also forget these women themselves are horribly shitty people: racist, xenophobic, misogynistic. They aren’t just enablers, they are active participates. But yeah, you hit the nail on the head. Fuck those asshole trolls.

Your kids have no interest because you have no interest. They’re not some sort of example to be held up that proves you were right all along, ya dink. YOU made them that way. Duh.

I was literally thinking watching this trailer that he has the dynamic onscreen presence of Denzel (plus the drop-dead gorgeousness) but I had no idea they were related. Ha!

(I haven’t seen BlackkKclansman yet.)

But who is putting forth that idea about him? People, including myself on occasion, are reacting to something. You can argue about whether it comes from him, the studios, marketing, or wherever but that smack of pretension is definitely there.

I think you just hit the nail on the head of why I dislike his movies somewhat, or rather, why they just never click with me fully. I do think that’s because I expect them to be something they aren’t. (Which I don’t think is entirely my fault- I do think he is PRESENTED as being more heady and intellectual than he Read more

Also the “while it’s tempting to call her a TERF . . . .” bullshit. Bitch, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, looks like a duck, IT’S A MOTHERFUCKING DUCK. When someone shows you who they are the first time, believe them!

This bitch is a TERF and has been for a long time.

Funny, coming from the fundamentally wrong person. Stop trying to use science as a weapon for your barely concealed bigotry, jackass. Their position isn’t philosophical. Science recognizes more than two sexes based on actual arrangements of chromosomes found in the human genome. The recognition of more than two Read more

Another artist here. You are absolutely correct. People who make excuses about this just want to continue to not have to use their conscience when out in the world being a consumer and patron.

Art cannot be separated from the artist and it’s insulting to creators to act like it can be.

Second artist here. First, what an asshole tone to take for such a wrong opinion. Second. any ACTUAL artist knows that that isn’t possible. It’s insulting and derogatory to act like we’re just some empty vessel the muses work through to create whatever we create. Art can’t be separated from the artist. They are Read more

What a good and cool article for me to have to see for the millionth fucking time, it surely doesn’t feel hostile or make me uncomfortable, nor do the inevitable comments from the male commenters, who are all *very* funny.

This was definitely worth running over an obituary for Rene Auberjonois.
