This was the year Drag Race broke me. I haven’t watched any of them. It was just too much.

I strongly disliked the first season and thus avoided the second. But I also loved Squid Game so I think it checks out that you and I just have opposite tastes.

Evil had a really strong second season. Has a bit of a Hannibal vibe, in that it’s just strange with no real explanation. And I like that.

Loll, my thoughts are the same about watching rich people but Succession does a good job of constantly and unrelentingly punishing every character. It’s quite satisfying, to a certain extent.

All this list has really shown me is that I’ve watched an absolute shit-ton of TV this year. 

I tried but man, I just couldn’t get into it. A weird combo of too slow yet also  too low concept.

I’m glad he was included as well. He was just unbelievably charming in Midnight Mass and you’re right, his impeccable voice is a part of it. I’m going to seek out more of his work.

I think this is the perfect example of why I dislike him. It WAS a funny bit but he murdered it by doing the entire thing instead of a line or two. He has no sense of timing, everything he does is 6x too long and it strangles the humor out of anything he attempts.

I’m two episodes behind and I’m mostly just flabbergasted to hear that Jurgen didn’t make the finale??? That is truly shocking.

Special effects are all CGI now and practical effects are only used still to make sure older and/or bigger people never get roles. This is a real cool society we’ve got goin’ on here.

This is going to suck. Netflix, wtf are you doing?!! Stop taking literally perfect pieces of art and remaking them. Start with flawed stuff, or lesser known, or stuff that didn’t live up to its potential. This is so fucking stupid.

Not true, but Jez (and the Root too, to some extent iirc) only reviews very occasionally things of narrow interest to their individual writers. And they are always, ALWAYS, 100% useless.

So glad I watched this based off of AvClub discussions. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed harder at any other pilot episode of a show. A hidden gem.
