I think we should divest in the militarization of police and invest more in futons:
I think we should divest in the militarization of police and invest more in futons:
“This is the fifth shooting death of a student at Austin-East...”
“This is the fifth shooting death of a student at Austin-East this year”
So one idiot school cop shoots the other and then they both blast away at the supposedly armed student who didn’t shoot anyone. Do I have that right?
I think you're making the assumption that these rules will be equally enforced across all voting districts.
Like this jerk, I don’t know enough about drug culture to differentiate between a crackhead, a heroin junkie, a methhead, a coke freak or a strict alcoholic because people come in all shapes and types. If they don’t work regularly, are dressed poorly and act fidgety, they’re all Crackies to me. The thing I’ve known…
That’s not even the comeback he thinks it is. If you immediately resort to comparing cops to crackheads, that doesn’t speak too highly of the profession, does it? Plus, at least being a crackhead would better explain how someone could get a gun and taser mixed up despite 26 years of experience handling them...
Will never understand why anyone from wealth can’t just do this.
The pandemic was simply a refracting glass that changed all our other problems into a single, burning ray.
I think disappointment is probably what Tom and Rita discuss when Chet’s not around, but I think that they’re probably the sort of parents who’ve given Chet an over-the-top level of encouragement his whole life regardless of how fucked up he’s acting. I can’t imagine what else about Chet’s life experience could have…
I like to think of Tom as a really good guy who is profoundly, heartbrokenly disappointed in his offspring, though I have no factual basis for that notion.
no fucking shit. I’m 12 years younger than Tom Hanks and would happily let him adopt me to hang out with him and live off of his money, and I’d even promise beforehand NOT to cover my body with tattoos and NOT be an attention-seeking douchebag.
“...Vogue recommends exercise and journaling.
was really hoping this pandemic would break us out of the current insane trajectory our country and global society was on. all that’s gone. i really see no hope for addressing climate change, no hope in addressing income inequality, no hope in addressing political corruption. it’s done. i feel jaded and hopeless about…
“There’s no life hack that gets around the knowledge your government was happy to let a vast swath of its population die, no radical acceptance of such a monumental chain of loss.”
It’s a racket, just like when the spokesgroup for gun manufacturers encourages more people to get a gun after a school shooting.
The problem isn’t that there are literally zero good cops. The problem is that there are a non-zero number of bad cops, and the system is designed at every level to protect them.
Really loved hearing the mayor and governor talk about how there will be increased law enforcement presence “for safety”. Are you fucking dense?
ACAB through and through.
