Include them! As a non-kid-haver, I don’t want to come to all your kid activities, but there might be some that I’m interested in, and our time doesn’t always have to be kid-free. Some parent friends made the mistake of thinking kids were poison to me until we talked about it and they realized that I was fine hanging

Reading that thread, I was reminded of something that happened when I was little. I was about...eight or nine, I think, and I was “ice skating” in my slippers on the living room rug and cracked my skull on the corner of the television. Huge amounts of blood, a terrible headache, a flap of skin hanging down (the scar

Sadly, I do. It’s the same denial that allows them to walk in on girls or pledges getting sexually assaulted and just walk right back out again: part denial and part CYA.

Unstoppable was suprisingly good. A friend and I saw it because we wanted to go to the movies and had alreayd seen everything else we wanted to see, and we were very entertained.

It’s not at all comparable in price, unless you’re eating fast food all the time.

I always thought they were for people who didn’t really know how to cook very well/didn’t know how to plan meals and/or TIME: didn’t have time to grocery shop, plan meals; combined with enough disposable income to say “fuck it”.

Really? I’m what my grandma would call a “good eater” and I am rarely hungry after Blue Apron.

Personally, I use Uber/Lyft rarely, and it’s usually because of service coverage. If I’m in downtown Chicago, I’m hailing a cab. But if I’m in the suburbs, where cabs are rare and terrible, I’m using an app.

The world thanks you.

I never want to have children, and I was probably going to feel that way regardless, but you know when it first dawned on me? When I was 7. Why? Because the division of labor in my household was nonexistent

Sure, they’re out the next day, but they’ve also been arrested, which can screw up a person’s life. And if they get convicted, that can screw it up even more. No, it’s not a foolproof system, but it’s not nothing.

You’re quite welcome! Because of their speed, people have this misconception of Greyhounds being really high energy and work-intensive, but, in my experience, they are super low-key and mild-mannered dogs, and very easy to take care of.

Yeah, my personal rule is no one who brings me food gets less than $5.00, no matter how low the tab. Especially during lunch checks can be very small and waiting tables deserves more than $1.50.

I, too, spent time in the service industry and overtip now as a result of my experiences.

Dude, your friend is totally wrong. :) “Energetic” is not a word that owners would associate with Greyhounds and I’ve found them to be less work than our other dogs, which were lab mixes. They do require exercise, but probably much less than a German Shephard or a Rottie beagle mix. They do short bursts, and are not

She genuinely believes that she has made her way, has lots of fresh insights and big ideas, and has figured out how to have it all.

But HOW LOUD WAS THEIR MUSIC????

Good luck. This one is a bit unhinged.

And even if there were a recording of a specific guy yelling a specific racial epithet it would be “it’s just ONE GUY!” Whenever you meet the threshold, the threshold moves.

Okay, you’ve devolved into gibberish. You clearly don’t have an interest in engaging in what I actually say, or the positions I’ve actually espoused, so I’m going to leave it here. Good luck in your future endeavors—you’ll need it.
