Still have all of mine in storage in my old bedroom set at my mother’s (The giant headboard ends had bookshelves in them, complete with doors.  And I know they weren’t for clothes storage because the shelves were spaced to much for clothes, but to little for towels/bedding.)

I’m just happy we’re finally getting a show about Superman. Not Superman’s grandfather. Not Superman “before he was Superman”. Not Superman’s cousin’s friends uncle. And not Metropolis without Superman.

Dude the mandarin is modern enough that even an intermediate speaker like me can grasp it. Michelle Yeoh did struggle with it and had to learn her lines phonetically, since her mandarin wasn’t that great (she’s Malaysian of Cantonese ancestry so I think it’s like her fourth language.)

I would be happy with Hollywood making movies that aren’t dependent on Chinese censors signing off on them. Stupid racist jokes notwithstanding, Hollywood survived for decades without being dependent on China. There’s no reason to say that Everything made in Hollywood absolutely requires access to Chinese markets. In

There wasn’t one thing about this movie that wasn’t brilliant and damn-near perfect. It’s “The Princess Bride” for me when it comes to Chinese cinema. Beautiful cinematography, use of color, and those action sequences... Tight script that doesn’t feel rushed but doesn’t slog. None of which would have mattered as much

Like many things I didn’t expect to see or hear in 2020 I can add “Hot Margaret Thatcher” to the list.

This is quite the racist response. Nice job telling on yourself.

Let’s not forget her deep and abiding love for Augusto “What A Fucking Monster He Was Pinochet.

Wasn’t she also leading one of the governments (along with the US) who backed the loathsome Khmer Rouge of all things when the Vietnamese got sick of them coming across their border to kill their citizens so they invaded and threw one of the most digusting and murderous regimes in history out of power. Extra special

I judge historical figures based on the general attitudes of the time. Otherwise every man before 1950 would need to be declared a terrible person.

Was his anti-sematism normal behavior of the time?  If so then we discuss his views within the context of the time period when discussing his work.  If his views were

Social media, y’all.

Just a month ago 70 million Americans voted for Trump (not to mention that many of them now believe there was a vast conspiracy that successfully carried out massive, multistate voter fraud). Yet we are supposed to believe people are smart enough to understand “...it’s a work of fiction that’s broadly based on

what are you talking about? That’s a still of Stu from Mrs. Doubtfire!

I’m Jewish, I loved his books as a kid, and unless someone can point out to me anywhere where these ideas actually showed up in his work, I don’t have an issue with them continuing to be available for future generations.

Think this is US only

You seem to have accidentally posted a picture of Remington Steele at the top of the article.
