Ehhh, they can easily hit those themes by playing to Golding’s Eurasian background, no?

how does anyone get through the past 20 years with minimal understanding of this conflict? Being an atheist is a poor excuse for international ignorance. It’s one of the most well-known, long-standing conflicts in the entire world. But ok

Hi!
- I’m Jewish.

I guess she is only a SJW cunt when it is her people being oppressed. Kind of like The Root.

I’ve never criticism against Israel from Americans like I have this week. It really is a big change. I sort of wonder if the BLM protests last summer have anything to do with it.

I am largely indifferent about this woman and have not seen a single one of her films, but the fact that you think it is antisemitic to be critical of a message about the latest israel/palestinian conflict from Gal Gadot—an actress who has very publicly supported the IDF in the past—is odd.

You’re a braver woman than I. I just cannot with this, anymore. People who feel that the genocide of the indigenous people in the Americas was wrong somehow fail to object to the massacres of Palestinians in their native land. To even have to argue about this is insanity. But thank you.

This whole thing was kicked off by extremist Haredi marching through Palestinian neighborhoods, attacking their inhabitants, and screaming “DEATH TO ARABS”, all while under the protection of the IDF.

The technicality - that it was originally written but never used (or even recorded, as far as I know) for Romeo + Juliet - definitely seemed petty. I’m sure there are plenty of Oscar-nominated songs that originate as previous unused ideas.

I stayed up to listen to it last night, and it was amazing. The masterpieces (Fearless, Fifteen, Love Story, You Belong With Me) remain masterpieces, and everything else sounds great too. I’m very much looking forward to the other albums.

I like that at CNN, the headline for DMX’s passing is above the passing of Prince Phillip. I’ll take a rapper who clawed his way up who struggled and became an artist who spoke truth and poetry, over a fucking royal who had everything handed to him.  DMX was given half as much time, but did so much more.

Yeah, I think power is a part of it. I also see two other issues at play:

You can like these two even if you have issues with the show as a whole:

The MCU films have two main qualities : they are entertaining an they are spectacularly forgettable, meaning that you can watch them for the very first time many times.

>Grammys need to just say “Fuck it” and base noms/winners on sales.

Think of “The Firm” as the Corleone “Family.” Vito is the head of the “family” and there is an actual hereditary family at the center, but “the family” is a bigger thing with various enforcers and consiglieres who are in many ways just as important to “the family” than the actual family and when Vito is old and sick

Or why the Prince would just hand over all his loot. Kids don’t get this stuff, to them the bird is sweet and the statue is selfless. In reality, they gave away all their catch without teaching the townsfolk to fish for themselves.

I think part of the problem with being put on a pedestal is that you become the object
