Waste is definitely an issue, but a solvable one. Putting nuclear plants on fault lines is idiotic and I’m not surprised it happens. Solar wind and water take up significantly more space than nuclear for even a fraction of the power output, along with requiring incredible amounts of mining and manufacturing.

I’d say it has to do with the tide and needing to be a ways up the shore, but I’d really hope people wouldn’t put a runway less than 10ft from the high-tide line. That being said I work in manufacturing and that is definitely not something you can rule out.
