The technology is also much more common... and lets be real. A record cost more than a CD to make, and a CD certainly cost more than an MP3. That's why they became dominant.

I think in most places ambulances are accompanied by a small fire truck for back up (I believe those trucks carry certain equipment that doesn't fit an ambulance)
