I watched season 3 of Transparent only because AV Club's reviews of it.
I so hated season 2, that I thought there was no way I would subject myself to these horrible people any longer. I am glad I did.
This season was leaps ahead of the last, the show has tried to find a balance between the horribleness of the family

This.
My take on that, is very similar to what you've written.

The relationship is so unbalanced that at times it seems predatory. I think Ali is gullible but not innocent.
I don't think that's how it started though, if I recall correctly, Ali did some chasing of Leslie after their one night stand; Ali was in a relationship at the time with her childhood friend.

OK.

Josh and Ali's cohabitation is reminiscent of Shelly and Maura's in season 2, choosing what seemed familiar and safe over living. Their parents' attempt at it ended up further injuring both of them emotionally through their interactions; I hope the siblings have a better outcome.

Hated that pilot. Seemed to be in the very flawed human being vein.

I put Maura at the top, agree with the rest of your order.

Well off people in very liberal areas, not just Los Angeles.

Maura would definitely vote Trump.

I despise them all, The AV Club's late recapping and not having much to watch, made me decide to give season 3 a try, halfway into it, it's better than season 2 but I won't say I like it as yet.

Unfortunately, I think in life there ARE people as damaged as Sarah who behave this way, I have interacted with one or two in my 40 plus years.
They are so unaware of their inappropriateness, that, they fail to pick up on the non verbal cues of those around them.

That's why I think Connor slept with him, as a revenge over Oliver.

I HOPE they stay away from criminal law.

Good point.

True

I won't debate with you if it's ridiculous or not because I see it as a personal choice.
I do understand quitting a show because you have lost respect for the writers or runners. It doesn't matter to me if said reason has merits for others or not, it's a personal choice that I respect.

If I had the background knowledge you speak off my reaction would be similar to yours this morning.
As a norm, I usually don't read background news about shows I am watching to avoid incidents like these.
I agree that TV shows today seem to be attached to shock and awe moments and many go to lazy lengths in order to

I would definitely watch that.

Another strong moment tonight was the exchange between Frank and Bonnie, when he asked her "do you love me"? and she said "yes", I finished that with but I love her more.

Well, she learned it at her mother's feet. As evidenced by the very matter of fact / cold way her mother informed her of having killed Annalise's sexual abuser (in season 1).
That to me is still to date, the most powerful HTGAWM episode.
Cicely Tyson and Viola Davis' playing off each other was superb acting.
