I think Tron holds up well and I liked Tron: Legacy a lot too.

I don’t think Spielberg’s confidence prevented him from winning the Oscar.  Gandhi was a serious movie about serious topics.  Even though E.T. was well reviewed, it was more of a kids’ movie.
