I think the same happen when you go to a new place, where you never have been, by one road where you never had passed. Cause when you come back, despite being the same road, the way looks closer! The first time when you do the road your mind absorbs new information and is it who makes that way looks longer.

One of my greatest wishes would be for someone to find a way to over ride this so time appears to pass as slowly as it used to. I’m quite fine with not being immortal but I think the fact the grave seems to rush towards you faster & faster is a very cruel joke for your mind to play on you.

They were probably afraid you’d leave for a better offer soon down the line since you were obviously worth more. Still a dumb policy and you’re probably better off not having worked at that place.

I had a similar situation - I was on the verge of being offered a job and had another offer on the table. They asked what that other offer was, and when I told them they said they couldn’t match it. When I told them I was much less interested in the other job, they said they had a policy of never offering a position

I consider concert ticket stubs and my old of sentimental value. My answer? Digitize. Take scan of the tix, take pics of the shirts and create albums.

I'm a former national cable company rep and can tell you this will usually work (kinda) and tell you why.

It also helps if you get a rep that's worth their weight... If your rep gives you a shitty offer, say you'll call back because you need to discuss it with your spouse (even if you're single).

I accidentally did this with a car dealer once. I was so surprised by the price he quoted me that I just stared at him in silence for about 30 seconds, trying to figure out how I'd respond. I guess it made him uncomfortable because he knocked a substantial amount off without me saying another word.

INDEX if you want to be burned for sorcery. SUMIFS to correct the the lev-i-o-SA to lev-i-O-sa. Dark Magicks for sure.

concatenate() is also a really useful tool. I use it all the time.

Love the VLOOKUP. With all the great online tutorials for Excel available, the only thing keeping someone from getting the knowledge is time and motivation.

I think I can safely say that a strong working knowledge of Excel can make the difference between needing to work 50 hours a week to get things done and 30 hours a week to get things done.

For a long time both of us viewed cooking as a hateful chore that we had to get through. We have (slowly) managed to adjust our attitudes over time and now view it as quality time we get to spend doing something productive for our life together. My husband calls stuff like this "marriaging", as in, "marriage isn't a

Many pharmacies will also blister pack pills, which is very useful if one tends to forget doses (or forget whether you've taken a dose or not).

I use the built in alarm clock a lot for reminders.

+1 for Sleep Cycle. I was skeptic at first but willing to try as I could see how it could work and sure enough, it does exactly what it says. You set an alarm and choose a wakeup period (7 options to choose from 10 mins to 90 mins). So if you choose a 30 min wakeup period (the recommended option) and set your alarm

@aherstein: Unless you happen to crash in the wilderness flying home from a spiritual retreat where you starved yourself for the prior 40 days... you'll be fine for a few weeks without food.
