I still haven’t watched more than the first season of Jessica Jones because the first season was such a perfect distillation of many, many issues facing women.

And I find this all the more fitting given that a huge “issue” when the first either teaser or full-blown trailer came out was how she didn’t smile enough.
Nope, it’s just darling.
I think that article articulates well why it probably isn’t Boo that the asides are being made to.
Each time I’ve seen these copies at Target, I’ve just wondered what was even the point of them. Digital copies are all I do anymore and I say this as someone who has a boatload of DVDs.
Nope, the only people you know the name for certain are Claire, Martin, Jake, and Harry...or I suppose Harry’s new partner Elaine and Kristin Scott Thomas’s Belinda. Everyone else is known by either a nickname (I’m assuming Boo is a nickname and not her actual name) or some other descriptor.
I know that saying we’re in the darkest timeline has been said about a billion times since 2016, but...
It’s truly a credit to Waller-Bridge that she’s established it in 10 episodes for Fleabag and 4 for Priest. I mean the number of shows that have 100 episodes and don’t have it...
Agreed that it is probably the single most divisive moment in the entire series. And I think that it’s actually a mark of something special that both sides can argue their part and be seen as completely valid.
All 3 of you are so strong this time that I am going to have to abstain because there’s just no way to choose.
And now I’m even more annoyed that my dumb movie theater isn’t showing this.
That’s how I tend to view it myself. I mean so much of the rest of the episode is about how Fleabag isn’t religious or spiritual, so it’s not like his position as a priest is on of power over her. Plus even if it was a position of power over her, what she’s just told him is that she wants someone to exert power over he…
I’ll admit that I didn’t find it uncomfortable (probably in part because I am definitely not Catholic), but I can 100% see why it reads that way.
There’s definitely been some articles about how that scene could be viewed as an abuse of power.
As someone who has thought that about similarly inappropriate crushes, I was right there with her.
For a show that features fourth wall breaks out the ying yang, it’s amazing just how electrifying it is when the Priest does it.
That really was one of the most bizarre cases of a toxic fandom clashing with a creative team that didn’t give a damn about screwing with the fandom (looking at you the first episode of Season 3 that just said ‘ha with your theories, we ain’t explaining a thing.’)
Following Sherlock, Scott had been an “oh he’s in this” guy for me, but after Fleabag’s seocnd season, he’s been officially moved up to “person who I see in trailers or here is in something and I add it to my list” guy. I was beyond floored by his performance. He’s SO good.
Yeah the fact that the first thought on so many’s mind was to vent their spleen on Twitter about this sort of thing is a worrying thing to say nothing of harrassing people off of social media platforms. And it sadly doesn’t show a sign of stopping....
I think it boils down to people being completely unable to imagine how something like this wasn’t seen by people on the set during the set and all of the people and work that comes after the camera stops. I suspect though that anyone who has ever had to work in film/TV or even publishing totally understands though. I…
