Pretty sure DuchessofDork was talking about her own experiences not guessing about the girl in the article.

I mean, shit. I’m relatively thin and trying on bathing suits is one of my least favorite things to do. Imagine being handed your standard issue one piece and being told “Wear this if you want to be allowed to swim.” And then there being an active ruling on whether it goes up your butt too far, this is a thing

When I read that line, I had an instant flash-back to being at the gym at my university in a lululemon top (that other women at the gym were wearing), and having an older lady come up to me in the dressing room to lecture me about my choice of top and then go on to say things like “think of the boys in there who will

I hate when I see/hear conversations like this: Aww, you must like her, huh? After all, you’re always teasing (bullying) her and pulling her pigtails (physically pushing her around).

Increasingly, I think mothers create misogynistic creeps. Fathers may be responsible for juvenile shit like gun fetishism and macho fuckery, but mothers “protecting their sons” seems to give boys and young men a huge head start in developing sexist and misogynistic attitudes.

“Have you tried teaching your sons to not be sexist little fucks?”

The teen girl’s mother has also been told by other parents that her daughters need to cover up for “the sake of their sons.”

That happened to my 9 year old! We were at a children’s museum and she was wearing a crop top. Some lady took her photo without my permission or knowing and posted it on a fb mom blog mom shaming me and and slut shaming my kid. She is 9! She wasn’t trying to be sexual! She wore it because she likes crop tops and she

“....a parent took a photo of her backside and shared it with other parents to point out incorrect swimwear, which is disgusting.”

Sure, September 11th.  Probably no one will do or say anything disgusting on that specific day.

How in the worlds an adult do you do that to a teen girl and not realize you are the villain in this story?

My jaw dropped as I read this. I hope this girl’s parents is able to teach her that there’s nothing wrong with her body.

09/10/19 Journal entry:

People are still garbage.
Maybe tomorrow?

The Washington Post reports that previously a parent took a photo of her backside and shared it with other parents

The only Woody Allen movie I would want to rewatch is Bullets Over Broadway. John Cusack is in the Woody Allen stand-in role, and I don’t think Allen makes an appearance at all.

And if so, will that affect the ads in their main account’s newsfeed?

How Facebook still exists.

I hate this because men already think literally everything is for dating. I get hit on in fucking Words with Friends. Yeah, I know you have to make a new profile, but honestly I doubt that’s gonna help. I already get romance scammers on FB as it is.

It amazes me that people still are buying into algorithms as always better than brains and common sense. This is going to be the Netflix home page for dating - a couple offerings that are actually interesting and 40 Bollywood musicals because I watched part of The Jungle Book once.

Based on how I use Facebook, I think they would just be trying to hook me up with a cat cafe.
