How is telling people to assimilate ignorance? It is never "demanded", just makes life better for everyone. Just how it's been. The idea is, be a part of the culture, the Aloha. I wouldn't call it racism, but maybe culturism. Hawaii is well isolated from the lower 48 but also has a very ethnically diverse culture.
