This is the last time I’ll be replying to you. You’re putting words in peoples mouths and implying that they have hidden agendas behind their motives. What the hell is wrong with you? How can you sit there and make baseless accusations without any concrete evidence? How are you even remotely helping the fight for

Again you are reaching. James Rolfe is followed by a lot of people online. They want to hear his opinion on certain subjects. This applies to many online personalities. His video was targeted towards his fans. Now had he called together a press conference you’d have a valid opinion.

And here we have the “I don’t have a counterpoint, so ad hominem and baseless claims it is” line of thinking.

I’m in agreement and your comment reminds me of this comic from Maximumble. People hating the very concept of the movie, but still spending loads of money watching it anyway. Here is the excerpt from the article following it:

If it starred Jonah Hill and Kevin James, not only would I refuse to see it, I’d burn down all theaters showing it to prevent people from witnessing the cinematic abortion.

Well, look at it this way. The new Ghostbusters movie, whatever your opinion on it, is very divisive among fans. James has always been pretty vocal about the original being one of his favorite movies and I’m sure a lot of fans wanted to know if he was going to see it or not and what his opinion of the trailer was.

The

Yup, and wtf is up with mentioning his race every three sentences? Admittedly some of the instances flow with the description of the man, but more than a couple left me thinking “what does it matter if he’s white?” You hit the nail on the head.

I dislike the “angry anonymous commentor” shtick that has proliferated through Gawker like cancer. I don’t like people who get worked up over disposable clickbait articles.

He does review movies. Not every single one mind you, but he still does it (moreso if it’s in one of the franchises he likes).

I’ve heard his fans were asking over and over if he’d review the new Ghostbusters and the video was mainly a response to them...still doesn’t make his video any less tone-deaf or ill-timed, but it does shoot holes in the whole “man feels need to tell Internet he’s not seeing Ghostbusters” thing.

Yeah, unless I missed it there was zero mention of his association with Screw Attack and how his rise on Gametrailers probably helped his early career more than YouTube.

Exactly. The movie was bad, and try as they might to play the sexism card, it is getting a bad reception. Can't hide the truth.

Better being an anti-SJW than a SJW-cuck, right?

At least there is logic behind the anti movement and none on the SJW one.

“Oh you disagree with my views, you must be ______” -Typical liberal response.

You did.

It’s obvious this writer is only interested in stating their position on the Ghostbusters thing, but shrouded it with writing a history of James Rolfe. Anybody with a brain can see that.

No, he really didn’t. He voiced his opinion on it. He didn’t think it was the right time for a remake of it. He even clearly states that it would have been better if they had made a movie with the original four training these new people to take over, and passing the torch to them. He points out what he doesn’t like

he was funny and you could tell that it’s a persona he is taking on.

“I don’t like his opinions therefore he’s bigoted”

This is a great and healthy way to view the world.

I dislike the “angry young white douchebag nerd reviewer” shtick that has proliferated through YouTube like cancer. I don’t like people who get worked up over disposable corporate culture. But I still like the AVGN because he was one of the first, he was funny and you could tell that it’s a persona he is taking on.

TLDR of this article:

AVGN played a stereotypical neckbeard nerd. Therefore, I’m going to assume his out-of-character persona has an issue that he’s sexist rather than listen and rebut his actual reasons.
