Exactly. This feels to me like he’s trying to make a strategic adjustment and, not surprising, she doesn’t want to help his campaign out. This is why good strategic planning is critical; he probably could have gotten it if he included it in the debate negotiations.

Seems like the only reason this is a story is because the campaigns are putting out statements about how they’re hashing out the details, which is awkward and just kind of makes everybody sound stupid. No it does not come across that way, the issue I’m seeing here is the nailing down of where exactly the 3 future debates will be. So what deal are you referring being made? From reading this they agreed to a vague schedule but now are having trouble with the details of WHERE.
