Not true. Bernie actually polls much higher against republican candidates than Hillary does. Bernie gets the majority of millennials and independents as well as moderate republicans. It’s not like he had to. I’ve watched interviews with him regularly for the half year leading up to his announcement, and the half year since. It was clear in the way he spoke about it. His views haven’t changed, but his motivation has.
