Yeah, I think it’s safe to assume that there’s a pretty decent risk that any politician in any former confederate state has done something super racist in their past. The only difference is that Virginia has enough political diversity that an election might be affected by the revelation.

Most likely, yes. The point is that it’s dangerous to encourage this sort of thing. Not every arrest candidate is going to be a little white woman in a city that mostly outlaws concealed carry. 

True - but I don’t think there was any danger in doing nothing (or at least taking less extreme measures) in this case.  I mean, if you want to risk your life to perform a citizen’s arrest on some asshole, that’s fine by me.  I can be glad he did it and think it was a stupid thing to do at the same time.
