that really sucks that we (humans) have actually developed multiple standards for docking our space ships. That alone is a MASSIVE road block when it comes to co-operating in space, and one which will likely echo through future generations, and may end up having large effects on future diplomacy with regards to space

perhaps this is the first step to mars. basically a loading station, where they could (theoretically) launch an mostly empty long range lander into orbit, dock it with this station, use this as a base for loading supplies, fuel, and even assembling such a vessel in sections. then they would be able to launch to mars

If this proves to be true, do it register as worse or less worse (morally, and ethically) than winning elections because you were voted in by dead people?

but what was the sample size and who conducted the study (i.e. was it a full on scientific study, or was it a Pew style Poll, etc.)?

I think the issue is not just in the players or the game, rather in the people overseeing the game, and becoming ignorant or overwhelmed by the sheer volume of patents (many of which are just vague software ideas) that are being applied for

I wouldn't say that we need to get rid of the patent system entirely, but we just need to make patents (primarily software patents) much harder to grant. My current company is a small start-up that is rapidly growing and expanding because the founders (with whom I am close personal friends) had an genuinely ingenious

Well when the map book for just the SF-Bay area, I would hope it could handle all that info. :)

That is pretty awesome that this device is not purely dedicated to energy production, but can be used for scientific experiment as well

the old school Thomas Brothers Maps actually do list every street, and I think every they did list address, but I can't remember as I haven't had to use on in ages (although my parents still do keep one in every car just in case).

Nicola Tesla would be proud!

I never said I agree, I was just saying that this sounds more plausible than anything else out there.

sorry that was a bad way to describe it. the blades do slow down the air, but that is still disturbing the flow of the air in such a way that, theoretically, it could cause a slight pressure wave.

I ad my girlfriend get the next model; up with the i5 and its a great machine (to the point where I'm jealous because it beats out all three of my computers)

Saying that Windows needs 12 steps is blatantly false. Windows XP needs 7 and Windows Vista needs 7 (funny that Windows 7 needs less). Yes we all agree that Windows XP and Windows Vista suck royally compared to Windows 7, but maybe thats why some many people switched over to Windows 7.

While I agree wholeheartedly with your opinions, I must point out that the Skype integration into Facebook was almost certianly planned far before Microsoft purchased Skype.

I don't think Microsoft should sell Bing for the simple fact that Bing will likely be the default search engine on whatever built-in universal search appears on Windows 8, and that alone will boost its numbers into the stratosphere. Also, it would be cool to see Facebook and Microsoft team up to bring Bing search

This study actually looked at WHY 3D (and all other TVs) cause eye strain. They started with the knowledge that it causes strain. The only thing bad about this study is how it makes the people reporting on it look. Especially since Engadget already covered this study, AND made it a point that the study did not just

Well on the plus side at least Ultra Low Frequency sound is actually a real thing, and it does not seem like a very far stretch at all to believe that a) the wind farms are producing ULF sounds (big blades displacing air at a regular interval) and b) the ULF might have some effect on people, not saying its causing

That is more what I was expecting/hoping for

Oh I love How Its Made. I just think its cliche to see the setup on a youtube video. But as you said, To each his own.
